Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

Free yourself from anxiety and depression

you've tried it all...
and still feel like you're drowning

Is the hamster wheel of thoughts and worries going nonstop?

Have traditional treatments for your depression left you feeling hopeless and stuck in the same dark place?

Chronic stress weighs you down and steals your joy. Every decision feels like a mountain to climb.

Imagine a world where your mind feels lighter, your thoughts clearer, and your days more manageable.

I offer ket amine-assisted psychotherapy, also known as KAP, a cutting-edge approach to overcoming treatment-resistant depression and obsessive-compulsive anxiety, and improving mental health and well-being.

The breakthrough you've been looking for.

Release ruminating thoughts, and find a deeper sense of self-awareness.

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy combines the therapeutic potential of ketamine, a generally accepted safe and effective medication, with psychotherapy to address various mental health conditions.

Clients who come into Intuitive Life Wellness seeking ket amine therapy are provided with a comprehensive mental health evaluation to determine fit and eligibility prior to being referred to a medical prescriber for the medical evaluation. Your prescriber determines your dosage and upon receiving your prescription, you will self-administer your medication in a controlled and supportive setting.

Ketamine can help facilitate deep emotional processing and cognitive shifts, paving the way for significant therapeutic breakthroughs. It’s not uncommon for people to report rapid shifts and improvement in mood following a medicine session, making this an ideal alternative option for those who have not responded to other treatments.

KAP, ketamine therapy
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT KETAMINE THERAPY
  • Ketamine is considered a dissociative anesthetic but can produce psychedelic effects at higher doses.

Ketamine works primarily by blocking NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptors in the brain, which are part of the glutamate system, a key neurotransmitter involved in mood regulation and neuroplasticity. By inhibiting these receptors, ketamine increases the availability of glutamate, which then stimulates the growth of new neural connections and synapses, potentially leading to rapid improvements in mood and cognitive function.

This mechanism is different from traditional antidepressants, which often take weeks to show effects. Research has shown that ketamine can produce rapid antidepressant effects, making it particularly valuable for treatment-resistant depression, and other difficult-to-overcome mental health disorders.

  • To determine if you are a good candidate for ketamine-assisted therapy, it is essential to undergo a thorough evaluation by a healthcare professional. Ideal candidates often include individuals with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, or conditions who have not responded to conventional treatments.

Factors such as overall physical health, medical history, and any contraindications (e.g., substance abuse or certain medical conditions) will be assessed prior to engaging in ketamine therapy. Some of these contraindications include but are not limited to:

    Manic Bipolar

    Schizophrenia/Psychosis

    Uncontrolled hypertension or glaucoma

    Pregnant or breastfeeding

    Some personality disorders/traits

Additionally, having a supportive environment and a willingness to engage in the therapeutic process are important considerations for maximizing the benefits of ketamine therapy .

  • The KAP program involves an intake and preparation process, followed by alternating ketamine and integration sessions. During the intake we will determine an estimated number of sessions as well as the location for the sessions.

    KAP Intake: $185.

KAP Preparation: $150/session. 2 sessions recommended. More available if needed.

KAP Integration: $150/session. At least one session per KAP session required.

    KAP Concierge (In-Home) Sessions: $470-$655/session

Sessions are held in person at your home for 2 or 3 hours. Your first session is reserved for 3 hours but can be reduced after that if appropriate. This is the best option for someone who does not have a chaperone available for their KAP sessions. I come to you and you get to rest and relax afterward without the drive home. Additional fees may apply if outside 30-minute radius.

    KAP Virtual Sessions: $370-$555/session

Either 2 or 3 hours are reserved for your virtual sessions, with the option or increasing or decreasing the time as needed or appropriate. Your first session is reserved for 3 hours but can be reduced after that if appropriate.

Some portion of Ketamine-Assisted Therapy for qualified mental health disorders may be covered under insurance. Please reach out to Intuitive Life Wellness to inquire about using insurance.

  • I offer both in person and virtual services. As noted above, your first in-person session is reserved for 3 hours, with remaining sessions reserved for 2 or 3 hours based on your preference.

In-person sessions are held at your private residence unless you would like me to rent office space in a wellness center at an additional fee of $25/hour, which much be arranged prior to starting KAP Services.

Virtual services are generally reserved for two hours but can be extended if needed. In order to participate in virtual ketamine-assisted therapy you'll need to have someone who can be present at your location as a "chaperone." A chaperone is someone I can contact if needed during your session if anything comes up. Their role is generally minimal and they do not have to be in the same room as you.

  • During the intake we will estimate a number and frequency of KAP sessions specific to your treatment needs. In general, participants will completed between 6 and 10 KAP sessions with integration sessions in between. The frequency of KAP sessions can be anywhere from twice per week to every other week, depending on your needs.
