This is the beauty of acudetox acupuncture. A soothing and healing treatment that helps strengthen the internal foundation for recovery.
Acudetox involves placing 5 small, sterilized, disposable stainless steel needles in specific sites on each ear. These sites work together to support the return to a healthy flow of qi (pronounced “chee”).
Qi may be best described as the life force energy, the intangible part that empowers our being and makes us each unique. It can become disrupted and out of balance with the use of chemical substances, chronic stress, and trauma.
Once the needles are inserted, the inner wisdom takes over and allows healing at a deep rooted level that cannot be touched with words. This non-verbal process embraces the whole system, allowing for gentle detoxification and restoration at the emotional, physical and spiritual level.

The 5 Acudetox Points
Acudetox uses a five-point application of needles in the ear, called auricular acupuncture. These specific sites affect the following body functions:

Sympathetic. This point involves balancing the autonomic nervous system. Relaxes muscles.

Shen men. Helps reduce anxiety-related symptoms including insomnia. Reduces cravings.

Kidney. Provides access to emotional reserves. Clears blood. Reduces fear.

Liver. Helps detoxify, reduces anger & depression.

Lung. Helps regulate respiration, body temperature, and reduces apathy. Helps restore joy.
Needles are gently inserted into the five regions in the ears. They are left in the ear for 45 minutes to an hour while the patient relaxes comfortably in a chair. Treatments can be offered in a group setting or individually.

I offer individual acudetox sessions at Dover Square Park in Westminster, CO (weather permitting) so you have a serene and calming experience where you can literally ground yourself with the earth and connect with the healing power of nature. During your session you also receive a guided meditation and ear seeds that remain on for up to a week and help to extend the effects of your session.
Acudetox can also be integrated into your current treatment plan - whether it's therapy, retreats, or microdosing, to support your integration and healing process. In this manner, acudetox can support regulation from the inside, releasing energy, building mindfulness skills, tapping into intuition, and rebalancing the system.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT ACUDETOX
It’s no secret that both stress and trauma can give rise to anxiety, irritability, insomnia, difficulty coping, helplessness, and even depression. It can be isolating, making us feel like there is something inherently wrong with us for not being able to get it together.
Acudetox supports your healing process from the inside out. Allowing a release in tension and relief from posttraumatic stress symptoms without the need for talking. People also report sleeping better, some finally sleeping through the night for the first time in years.
Fear, Anxiety, Nervousness. Acudetox can help instant relief of anxiety and promote the foundation for building the resilience to overcome self-doubts, worries, and fears.
Anger, Irritability, Frustration. With a balancing effect on the emotions, Acudetox can help relieve the tension and tightness of rage, and support a more loving affect, and sense of forgiveness towards self and others.
Helplessness, Emptiness. The inner healing mechanism is activated with Acudetox and allows you to feel your strength and resilience grow from the inside. Giving you a newfound connection to yourself, and belief in your ability to heal.
Acudetox is performed using small, sterilized, stainless steel, medical grade needles. The risk of complications and adverse reactions is significantly low. It is non-addictive. The needles don’t put anything into the person, rather they remind the person of what they already have. According to NADA, there are few reported side effects. To diminish adverse reactions, make sure to eat something before a session. Sometimes the site is tender or gets irritated, which is more likely with more frequent sessions. On rare occasion, a person may experience discomfort, like flushing or a mild headache. When this happens the bead/seed or needle is removed which usually relieves any discomfort. People who are allergic to metal should not use the needles and people who are allergic to tape should not use the beads/seeds. Also, people with bleeding disorders may want to avoid acupuncture as some bleeding can occur.
As mentioned before, Acudetox focuses on five points in the ear. The first two points are known for their calming effect: the sympathetic nervous system point, and the Shen Men, or heavenly gate, believed to be a powerful stress reducer. The other three points affect three major organs in the body: the liver, the kidneys, and the lungs.
Even though Acudetox involves the use of needles, the treatment should not be painful or stressful. The needles used are medical grade acupuncture needles that are fine and sterilized with little to no risk of infection.
After the needles are placed in the five ear points, it may take around 30 minutes to feel the effects, with maximum benefit around 45 minutes. You should feel relatively calm and relaxed, with ongoing effects over the next 24 hours. After the needles are removed, ear seeds will be placed on specific points to help extend the effects. These seeds are stuck on with surgical tape and generally last up to one week.
Acudetox can be very beneficial for children due to the support for mood, sleep, and even adhd/add symptoms. Ear seeds can be placed discretely to help children with regulation through the school day and can help manage adhd/add symptoms.
I require clients to be at least 13 years old to receive acudetox with needles through my practice. Children younger than 13 can receive ear seeds only. Parental permission is required for children under the age of 18.

1:1 Acudetox session at Dover Square Park in Westminster, CO. Receive the 5-point ear acupuncture protocol along with a guided meditation to help you reconnect with the earth and your soul's vibration. You'll want to bring water and something to sit or lay on. Weather permitting only.
$65/60-minute session
Wellness Package
A series of 4 acudetox sessions that you can schedule as-needed or as a part of a protocol targeting specific treatment goals. An example of specific treatment goals may be ceasing smoking or use of other substances in which we scheduled more frequent acudetox sessions on a regular basis to manage cravings and withdrawal symptoms. If requesting a wellness protocol, please reach out prior to booking your sessions to determine a plan of action. Sessions are held at the park as described above.
